NEMS is delighted to be supporting Jewish Care for this year’s Kol Nidrei Appeal. The money raised will go towards developing a meaningful programme of activities for people living with dementia in the Redbridge and Essex community and Jewish Care’s Dennis Centre.
We know that the pandemic has caused many older and vulnerable people in the community to feel isolated and alone. In March 2020, Jewish Care closed it’s community and day centre doors, including the Dennis Centre ( a centre dedicated to supporting people living with dementia and their carers). It was a challenging time for their members, but Jewish Care adapted to the change and created a virtual programme of activities and events whilst continuing to provide further support through telephone befriending and the Meals and Wheels service to keep its members connected and their minds active.
With your help, the re-opening of the Dennis Centre will enable people living with dementia to take part in stimulatory activities such as exercise classes, movement, music, and art therapy sessions to keep their heart and minds healthy. Professional staff work in close partnership with volunteers to help offer a warm and friendly environment for all members. Please support Jewish Care so they can continue to support those that need them the most.
